Sam's MGZR![]() |
The MGZR needed its front brakes checkingThe front disc brakes had worn quite quickly during the first year I had the car so I thought they might need checking now, almost 9 months since the MOT. So I decided to jack the front end up and put it on axles stands, and take some photos while so I could remember what I did. |

The alloy wheels look great when they are clean, but that security bolt is a real pain if its been overtightened

This trolley jack will lift my Land Rover but here its a matter of deciding where to place it.

So now both sides are on axle stands. I used some leather to help cushion the steel stands from the MG's subframe.

Unclipping the MG hubcap is not as easy as it could be.

The discs were not as worn as before and there was still plenty of lining left on the pads so all was well!!

The brake caliper seems quite substantial.

The MacPherson strut forms the front suspension.

Time for a new tyre.
