Sam's MGZR

Sam's MGZR

MG ZR

The MGZR needed its front brakes checking

The front disc brakes had worn quite quickly during the first year I had the car so I thought they might need checking now, almost 9 months since the MOT.

So I decided to jack the front end up and put it on axles stands, and take some photos while so I could remember what I did.

The back of the Safari

The alloy wheels look great when they are clean, but that security bolt is a real pain if its been overtightened

The petrol tank at the back

This trolley jack will lift my Land Rover but here its a matter of deciding where to place it.

Air lock pipes Sender and take off pipe

So now both sides are on axle stands. I used some leather to help cushion the steel stands from the MG's subframe.

MG hub cap

Unclipping the MG hubcap is not as easy as it could be.

Rear offside Under the tank

The discs were not as worn as before and there was still plenty of lining left on the pads so all was well!!

brake caliper

The brake caliper seems quite substantial.

My MG and me

The MacPherson strut forms the front suspension.

3/4 view

Time for a new tyre.

Side view

The view under the bonnet, not as clean as it used to be!
